Meet James
Business Development Manager
Having experienced a Cerebral event soon after birth, James has lived his life affected by Cerebral Palsy and over time, become a full-time manual wheelchair user.
James has lived for 35+ years held back by the barriers presented by inappropriate and inaccessible accommodation, from federation homes to small student apartments, where activities of daily life and support provision were nearly impossible.
After a prolonged but successful AAT appeal for SDA funding, James secured Fully Accessible SDA accommodation and for the past 2 years has been thriving.
His experience living in SDA and supporting other SDA participants as a support coordinator has spurred him on a personal mission to help improve the standard of all SDA and Accessible accommodation.
The Founders of NZE have embraced James’ mission to change this and are building a team around him, to deliver homes that are designed with the clients in mind in locations that promote a happy, healthy lifestyle: family and community connection.
James is a passionate advocate for change in the accessible space, working to promote housing outcomes for participants and support the dream of home ownership for people living with a disability.
